How we rank and rate wedding planners
Planners lists and compares wedding planners using a structured, transparent and evolving method. Every directory page — national, regional, departmental or city — is ranked with the same criteria for everyone, published below.
Six criteria, one order
Every night, a visibility score out of 100 is recalculated for each wedding planner. It combines six families of criteria, all of them verifiable.
- 01Moderate
Foundation
Credibility and legitimacy
Profile reviewed by our team before publication, verified business registration, clearly declared services.
- 02Strong weight
Profile
Profile completeness
Profile photo, detailed presentation, website or social networks: the information couples need to get a clear picture.
- 03Strong weight
Work
Achievements and content
A well-stocked photo gallery, videos, a portfolio of organised weddings: what the wedding planner actually shows of their work.
- 04Strong weight
Activity
Freshness and responsiveness
Content updated within the last six months, recent login, and response rate to couples’ requests: a planner who rarely replies sees their score reduced, by up to half.
- 05Moderate
Commitment
Subscription and credits
A Premium subscription adds 15 points to the visibility score, an Essential subscription 10 points and a credit purchase 5 points (only one level counts, never combined). It is the only paid criterion: it never affects the Planners rating or the reviews.
- 06Bonus
Newcomers
Discovery bonus
A newly published wedding planner receives a bonus that decreases day by day over 60 days, giving them time to complete their profile and receive their first requests.
The Planners rating
A weighted rating, not a simple average
The rating out of 5 shown on each profile is calculated from the reviews left by couples. Each review counts according to how recent and how detailed it is, and the rating converges towards the real average as reviews accumulate.
| Type of review | Coefficient | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Recent reviewPosted less than 2 years ago | × 1 | Strong weight |
| Review 2 to 4 years oldStill taken into account, with a reduced weight | × 0.6 | Moderate |
| Review over 4 years oldA reputation needs to be maintained | × 0.3 | Low |
| Detailed reviewAll 4 criteria rated (communication, organisation, value for money, punctuality) and a detailed testimonial | × 1.2 | Bonus |
| Unapproved reviewRejected or awaiting moderation | × 0 | None |
The formula
Rating = (5 × 4 + Σ weight × rating) ÷ (5 + Σ weight)
Each rating is first supplemented by five “reference reviews” at 4/5: with few reviews, the rating stays cautious; the more reviews accumulate, the closer it gets to the real average. The result is rounded to one decimal place. The rating never exceeds the real average of the reviews: the reference reviews temper a good rating backed by few reviews, but never raise a bad one.
- A single recent 5/5 review: Planners rating of 4.2/5.
- Five recent 5/5 reviews: Planners rating of 4.5/5.
- Ten recent 5/5 reviews: Planners rating of 4.7/5.
- Thirty recent 5/5 reviews: Planners rating of 4.9/5.
How the order is built
Recalculated every night
The visibility score is recalculated automatically every night: an improved profile shows the very next day, without having to ask.
As close as possible to couples
With equal scores, the wedding planners closest to the searched location come first, then the most recently active.
Broadened rather than empty
When a search returns no results, we broaden it to the neighbouring area rather than showing an empty page.
Display order and transparency
Premium wedding planners benefit from increased visibility: they appear at the top of the lists and their profile is enhanced. They are always identified by the Premium badge. The Essential subscription (10 points) and credit purchases (5 points) also add points to the visibility score, without a badge.
All wedding planners are then ranked according to the same criteria, published on this page.
Visibility can be bought, the rating never: the subscription has no effect on the Planners rating or on published reviews.
